Where to Stay

Vancouver has a plethora of options when it comes to accommodations. From budget friendly to 5 star hotels, you can be sure to find something within your wallet’s reach.

Another thing you’ll want to consider is what area of Vancouver you want to stay in. Do you mind parking the car and exploring on foot/public transit? The most popular areas to stay in are Coal Harbour, Davie Village, West End, and Gastown. In our experience, staying further out of the city, you can find more affordable accommodations.

Here are some family-friendly options to consider:

  • Granville Island Hotel
  • The Westin Bayshore
  • Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown
  • The Burrard

Travel with Kids Tips

Here are some additional tips to help make your weekend trip that much more stress-free.

Bring a Quality Stroller

With a bunch of walking, it may be wise to bring a stroller for this trip. Choose a lighter version if you plant to take public transporation as well. You can also opt for a baby carrier, in lieu of a stroller. For toddlers, a hiking pack is a great option, or look into a quality stroller to handle any terrain.

Ferry Travel for Little Ones

This is especially for the young ones that suffer from motion or seasickness. Wearing a SeaBand has been a go-to for years, so it makes sense for little ones to wear them too! A huge selling point is that it focuses on pressure points, versus having to take medication.

Go with the Flow

Things can happen, even on a weekend trip! Go with the mindset of being flexible, and everyone should end up having a great trip. Not placing too many things on the books is a wise way to keep everyone happy.
